A day of “first” at Busch Gardens – 5/27/2024

Very wet and stormy Memorial Day calls for some Busch Gardens time during the rain breaks. It was just Ari, Izzy, Austin, Taylor and I on our visit today.

We had 12 vouchers for the food and wine festival that Busch Gardens currently has going on.

Virginia – Bacon and Cheddar hush puppies

Africa – Peri Peri Chicken & Nigerian Chapman

Hawaii – pulled pork slider & Hibiscus Lemonade

Mexico – Sopapilla Cheesecake Bar

French Quarter – Beignets

Jamaica – Jamaican Beef Patty

Italy – Giant Meatball & Lemon Ricotta Cake

South Korea – Dalgona Korean Coffee

During our eating around the park, we rode many rides thanks to very low crowds.

The kids got on Griffon first.

Then we went on Taylor’s favorite, Le Scoot.

We made a quick stop by Invadr and rode in the middle rows since they are the least head pounding. None of us have been on this coaster in a while.

Next, we head to Alpengeist. Ari and Austin are finally at the height to ride, this is a first for them. A bit of mixed emotions about the ride.

Izzy and Taylor wanted to take a picture in the lighthouse on our way to the swings.

The kids went to get in line for Verbolten but the line was longer than they wanted to wait so they asked if they could ride the swings. I was already in line with Taylor and they joined us. Taylor and I got to get one before the other kids since we were riding the companion seat. This is Taylor’s first time riding the swings. She is finally tall enough.

After we got off, we were able to get back in line and ride with the other kids. Taylor really wanted the yellow swing.

After the swings, we rode The Battering Ram.

We head to another first for Ari and Austin, Tempesto and one of my favorite rides in the park. Austin and Izzy ride first and I could tell Austin was a little scared but he braved it and loved it!

Next was Ari, she was pretty freaked out but I reassured her that she would love it and she got on.

When she got off she said it was “okay” and she would ride it again.

Ari, Izzy and Austin went on to ride Apollo’s Chariot while Taylor and I rode the tea cups and elephant run.

Such a fun visit to our local amusement park and family time is always the best time.

After we got home and another storm passed, we went to a neighbors to have our annual Memorial Day picnic.
