This is hands down our favorite winery we have been to and we have been to a lot of wineries. We are also members of their wine club.
Elk Island Winery is the very first winery we went to together which makes it pretty special in itself, however, their wines speak for themselves. We have not had the first bad wine here.
Being a member of their wine club, we get 2-3 tasting flights or glasses each visit, depending on how many people we have with us.
Today, my parents watched Taylor for us so we could go on a date and we ended up at Elk Island.
We ordered 2 tasting flights:
2023 Sauvignon Blanc – perfect for a hot sunny day
2023 Petit Manseng – really good and tart
2023 – Albariño – member wine
Joy – their very 1st Sparkling Wine. Delicious!
Naked Norton – Rose, very tasty. Could pass for a table red
2020 Merlot – great for winter time around a fire pit. Would go well with duck
2021 Confluence – member wine, smells amazing taste delicious and is easy drinking
Wal-Tea – Elk Island’s take on an Arnold Palmer
We also ordered their charcuterie board with smoked Gouda cheese to enjoy with our wine flights.
Once we finished our tasting flight, I ordered a strawberry Sangria Slushy and we also ordered a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc.
The sangria is delightful!
Since we had time to kill, we ordered a second charcuterie board, this time with sharp white cheddar.
We enjoyed a few hours of relaxation, just the 2 of us. This is so important, especially when you have younger kids. It was nice to go out and enjoy each other’s company at one of our favorite places. Thank you Elk Island for being our go to, relaxing spot and as always, for the hospitality! ( We have always been served by the owners and the conversation never runs dry)
